Infosys hires freshers into three tracks — Systems Engineer (SE), Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE), and Specialist Programmer (SP) — usually through the same coding assessment, with your score deciding which offer you receive. The Infosys Interview Process, Round by Round

1. Online assessment or HackWithInfy. Most on-campus candidates take a standard aptitude-and-coding online test. Off-campus SP/DSE aspirants instead go through HackWithInfy: 3 coding problems (one easy, one medium, one hard) in a 3-hour window, covering arrays, strings, dynamic programming, graphs, trees, and greedy algorithms.

2. Technical interview. A single round, typically 30–45 minutes, covering OOP fundamentals, DBMS, your final-year project, and usually one live coding or pseudocode question.

3. HR interview. Shorter than the technical round — 15–20 minutes — checking communication, motivation, and fit rather than technical depth.

Roles and indicative packages: SE (application development, testing, maintenance) around ₹3.6–4.5 LPA; DSE (AI/ML, cloud, data science) around ₹6.25 LPA; SP (full-stack development, DevOps) ₹10–21 LPA depending on HackWithInfy performance.

Core CS fundamentals

Your project

Interviewers dig into your final-year project: why you chose that tech stack, the hardest bug you fixed, and what you'd change now. A vague answer about your own project is a bigger red flag than a missed coding question.

A coding or DSA question

SE/DSE candidates usually get an easy-to-medium array or string problem. SP candidates should expect HackWithInfy-level DSA — practice medium-difficulty problems on arrays, strings, dynamic programming, graphs, and trees specifically, since that's the exact range the coding round draws from.
